RiskScape has been used to provide loss estimates for future urban growth decision-making in Queenstown, New Zealand. Several debris flow and rockfall scenarios were used to estimate the potential damage and losses for buildings located on the Reavers Lane and Brewery Creek alluvial fans.
Using modified exposure datasets, RiskScape modelled four different policy options, including engineering interventions, to quantify the impact of each option if the hazard events were to occur in 2120. The data has been presented to the community for consultation on a preferred option.
